The Perfect Patio
Are you looking forward to enjoying the nice weather this year? Having a nicely decorated patio can make enjoying the outdoors that much more exciting. Whether you have a tiny patio or a bigger space to work with, these are my tips on how to create a luxurious outdoor oasis for you and your guests to enjoy.
Are you a night owl? Do you hate looking out your window to a dark back yard? Good patio lighting is necessary. Lighting can set the mood and of course it helps you see as it gets dark! There are many different lighting options to choose from. String lights are always a classic, you can put them on a timer so they automatically turn on, or you can plug them in as you need them. You can also go with ground lighting such as path lights or lighting that is built into your deck or patio. Ground lighting has a cool effect and helps you see where to walk, but I would recommend getting another source of lighting that will allow you to see ahead of you as well. Another source of lighting is fence lighting. If you have a fenced yard, this lighting is perfect for seeing all areas in your yard at night. If you aren’t a fan of the dark, but like to enjoy summer nights outside, this might be a good option.
Something that can get skipped over often is adding some sort of umbrella or gazebo to your patio. If it is a rainy or sunny day, having a cover or shade will pay off. Nothing is worse than planning an outdoor BBQ and when you go to sit down, the rain falls onto your plate. If your skin is sensitive to the sun, these will provide enough shade for hours of outdoor time.
Are you looking for something fun or relaxing to add to your patio? Adding a hammock or swing are great options. You can get colorful or patterned pillows or hammocks as a Source: Wayfair
way to add pops of color to your patio set up. After grilling all day or after a long day of work, the hammock or swing will definitely be calling your name!
Of course you need a table for eating! What’s a patio without some drinks or food on a nice summer evening? There are plenty of table options, but if you decide to get an umbrella as your source of cover, keep in mind that there are tables that have build in umbrellas. If you go the gazebo route, there are an abundance of options to choose from.
