Pantone Color of the Year

Earlier this month, Pantone announced their color of the year for 2020: PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue; a shade reminiscent of the sky at dusk that is elegant in its simplicity and re-centers out thoughts.

This thought-provoking blue brings a sense of peace and tranquility as our desire for a dependable and stable foundation grows into a new era.

"It's a color that anticipates what's going to happen next," said the vice president of the Pantone Color Institute, Laurie Pressman, "What's the future going to bring as we move into the evening hours?"

This is an important question as we move into a new decade. The Pantone Color Institute said it recognized feelings of instability gripping the world today as we see the state of our planet from the United States, Hong Kong, to Syria and on. That's why they settled on a shade that radiates reassurance, confidence, and connection that people may be searching for.

More About Pantone For over 20 years, the experts at the Pantone Institute comb the world looking for new color influences from the entertainment world including film production, art collections, fashion, travel destinations, to socio-economic conditions, and more.

The color of the year influences product development, fashion, graphic design, product packaging and more.
